ASTHMA Special Issue 15 December 2007

From the Desk of Editor - Dr. Pawan S. Chandak

Asthma is a chronic illness involving the respiratory system in which the airway occasionally constricts, becomes inflamed, and is lined with excessive amounts of mucus, often in response to one or more triggers. These episodes may be triggered by such things as exposure to an environmental stimulant (or allergen) such as cold air, warm air, moist air, exercise or exertion, or emotional stress. In children, the most common triggers are viral illnesses such as those that cause the common cold.

To control acute attacks of asthma & Drug-dependent Asthma cases help of Specific homoeopathic medicines for Asthma like Aspidosperma, Blatta Orientalis, Senega, Grindelia, Justicia etc should be given in tincture form on as per indications. Constitutional Treatment is the best to cure Asthma permanently. For recurrent asthmatic attacks Anti-miasmatic medicine should be added like Medorrhinum, Sulphur, Thuja etc.   .

Interviewed by Dr. Pawan S. Chandak

In drug dependent asthma cases, when the patient is on an inhaler and/or steroids; in such cases it is very difficult to get a clear picture of the case. The artificial chronic disease is superimposed on the original natural disease (Aphorsim 91), therefore symptoms are contaminated or suppressed and the patient cannot give a clear picture e.g., modalities, etc.

  • Utility & scope of Biomedical Instrument in Asthma by Dr. Mahendra Gaushal (Shirpur, India)

  • Homoeoprophylaxis (HP) has been used for over 200 years to assist in the prevention of targeted infectious diseases. Mostly this use has been in short-term epidemic situations. In 1985 I prepared a 5 year HP program from long-term prevention, and have collected data since then to assess the safety and effectiveness of the program.

Homeoprophylaxis is the administration of homeopathic medicines to induce in the patient immunity against a particular disease.  Natural immunity – based on principles of natural law, you can receive a protection against the flu or any disease including polio, tetanus, and measles etc using homeoprophylaxis.
