Report of 2nd National Convention & Scientific Seminar |
The Second National Convention and Scientific Seminar of IHMA was held on 6th May 2007 at Coimbatore. In a glittering function organised at Hotel Tamilnadu, Dr. R.Sandana Pandian, a renowned homoeopath of South India inaugurated the convention. He stressed the need for a separate directorate for homoeopathy in Tamilnadu. In his presidential address, Dr.M.G.Oommen, the National President of IHMA described the circumstances which led to the formation of IHMA three years ago. He reiterated the need for a separate directorate for homoeopathy and sanctioning new homoeopathic dispensaries and hospitals under government sector in Tamilnadu. Dr.S.Sreejeev, Secretary General of IHMA delivered the keynote address. He described the activities IHMA in general and mentioned the growth of IHMA along the length and breadth of India.

Principal, VMHMC, Salem. Dr.Jayaram, Principal, RVSHMC, Coimbatore and
G.Suresh, Principal, NHMC, Coimbatore offered felicitations. Dr.R.Gopal,
Conference Chairman welcomed the gathering and Dr.Suneeth Mathew,
Conference Director proposed vote of thanks.
There were three
papers in the scientific session.
Dr. E.S.Rajendran,
Dean VMHMC, Salem presented a paper on "Scope of Homoeopathy in
Psychosomatic Disorders"
Dr. Praveen Raj,
Lecturer, Fr.Muller's HMC, Mangalore presented a paper on
"Perceiving Uncommon Symptoms in Clinical Practice and its
Utilities".
Dr.Mansoor Ali,
Tutor, GHMC, Calicut presented a short paper on "Scientific
Methodology of Repertorisation".
Delegates actively participated
in the general body that followed in which the new office bearers for
the period 2007-09 were elected. The newly elected office bearers

The event reflected
the organisational discipline and set up of IHMA which makes it
stand apart from other homoeopathic organisations in India. The
Coimbatore chapter of IHMA deserves special mention here for organising
the convention in a colourful and disciplined manner.
