Cancer :: CA Larynx and Homoeopathy
by

Cancer :: CA Larynx and Homoeopathy:
Cancer of the larynx is rare. Fewer than 1 in every 100
cancers is a cancer of the larynx. Cancer of the larynx is more common in men
than in women. For every 4 men diagnosed, there is 1 woman diagnosed.
Carcinoma Larynx:
Polypoid lesions; mixed epithelial and spindle cell tumors.
Carcinoma with spindle cell differentiation
SYNONYM(S):
Metaplastic carcinoma.
Carcinosarcoma.
Pleomorphic carcinoma.
SEX:
Predominantly male (85%), in head and neck regions.
ANATOMIC LOCATION:
Anus, Bladder.
Breast - Conventional carcinoma may be glandular or squamous.
Cervix, Esophagus, Gall bladder, Small intestine.
Kidney - see related lesion entry for Sarcomatoid renal cell carcinoma.
Large intestine/rectum/anus, Larynx.
Lung - Conventional carcinoma is usually squamous.
Oral cavity.
Ovary - See related lesion entry for Carcinosarcoma of uterus and other
gynecologic organs.
Pancreas, Pharynx, Prostate, Skin, Stomach, Small intestine, Thymus, Thyroid,
Vagina.
CLINICAL INFORMATION:
In head and neck region, no correlation with risk factors (alcohol, tobacco,
etc.).
GROSS APPEARANCE:
Often polypoid.
HISTOLOGY:
Some authorities prefer "carcinosarcoma" when heterologous elements present and
"metaplastic carcinoma" when specific elements are lacking. We prefer "carcinoma
with spindle cell differentiation" for all lesions as prognosis and
immunohistochemistry are similar. Conventional carcinoma is typically seen in a
specific organ admixed with a malignant spindle cell component. Malignant cells
may merge in with conventional carcinoma or show abrupt transition between the
two. Spindle cell component may be "nonspecific" with fascicles or storiform
pattern or show specific differentiation (i.e. malignant cartilage or bone).
Generally the spindle cell component is hypercellular and pleomorphic, but may
be bland and sparsely cellular. An in-situ conventional carcinoma may be seen.
Conventional carcinoma may be limited (may require multiple sectioning for
identification). Heterologous elements may be seen.
SPECIAL STAINS/STUDIES:
Keratin immunoreactivity may be seen in spindle cell component both with
nonspecific pattern and in cases with more specific differentiation.
BEHAVIOR:
Prognosis is usually poor regardless of histologic pattern.

Plenty of spindle cell component are present. Spindle cell component is
hypercellular and pleomorphic. Spindle cell component is arranged in storiform
pattern. Some heterologous elements are seen. Some malignant cells are merged in
with conventional carcinoma cells.
Impression- Carcinoma with spindle cell differentiation

Result:
The case was first much improved but afterwards deteriorated and then died. This
indicates the case was borderline with gross pathological changes and could not
be cured. Nevertheless, the homoeopathy did its wonderful work and well proved
its worthiness even in such type of really incurable cases.
