WORLD HEART DAY CELEBRATED


The National Academy of Homoeopathy, India celebrated the World Heart Day along with the Rotary Club of Nagpur South East, District 3030 on Wednesday 24th September 2008.
At the outset, Dr. Aadil Chimthanawala who was the keynote Speaker was welcomed by the President Rotarian Dr. Shriram Kane. In his speech, he emphasized the role of Homoeopathy in combating Heart Disorders with a holistic approach. He said that such diseases have become the epidemic of  21st century. Heart disease and stroke are the world’s largest killers, claiming 17.5 million lives a year.  Eighty per cent of the victims are from low- and middle-income groups.  The good news is that heart disease is preventable with constitutional Homoeopathic management and that simple, affordable steps that can be taken to reduce the major risk factors. Controlling these risk factors helps the heart to age more slowly and dramatically reduces the risk of heart disease. He exhorted the audience to ask themselves as to why, inspite of increasing modernization are Indians still getting SICK. He also gave an overview about the action of Vital Force and how the homoeopathic medicines act upon the disordered Vital Force and bring about the changes that can be appreciated both at functional level as well as in investigations. The theme for the World Heart Day is "Know Your Risk!"
The numerous questions that followed the lecture covered a wide array of subjects ranging from misconceptions of Homoeopathy to its role in autoimmune diseases, Diabetes, placebo therapy, not writing of prescriptions by homoeopaths and patents. On this occasion, a Pharmacy Exhibition of Raw materials from which Homoeopathic Medicines are prepared was also organized.
