Menopausal symptoms

by

Roberto Bianchini, England

Case of Menopausal Symptoms:

A woman born 1937 consults me on 23.9.1993 for climacteric flushing which began 4 years ago after a curretage; took hormones but it had little effect. Frequent, strong flushes; wakes frequently at night. Sweat unpleasant odor.

Pain, shoulder and ankles { morning, R. heel bone painful.

Low BP, dizziness, faints easily. Colored dots in visual field.

Varicose veins, burning; support stockings worn.

Heartburn; migraine L temple.

H/O fibroid uterus; cysts breast.

Sensitive to odors and taste, nauseates easily.

Desires spice, garlic vinegar.

Says she is charitable, helps a lot of people, offended easily.

Memory poor, forgets what she is doing, appointments.

Anxiety about the health of relatives. Worries about nearest relatives; something will happen to them.

Feels she is not appreciated by relatives, they don't care for her or show her enough love.

Dreams about narrow places, walls closing in on her, fearful of this. Cannot bear to watch a sinking ship.

During the war she was left by her mother - the mother took the son instead of her. She was left alone in a village. She began talking to the animals as she had no one to talk to. Now she has the same feeling with regards to her relatives, that they may disown her.

Observation:

Speech thick, slurred, somewhat loquacious. Seems confused, lost. Sadness. Sighing.

What occurred during her childhood still bears its mark today; she still feels the same way even though she is not in that situation. She feels forsaken, but more specifically, experiences the Delusion, repudiated by relatives: Arg-nit., Hura;

She was completely isolated. Forsaken, sensation, isolation: Anac., Arg-nit., Camph., Cann, Coca., Hura, Plat., Stann., (She did not directly express this feeling, here it is used as situation, yet it is related to her other feelings); and out of this found the need to talk to the animals:

Talk, desires to talk to someone: Arg-m, Arg-n., Caust, Lil-t, Nux-m, Petr, Tarax.

She still feels neglected;

Delusion, neglected; Arg-n, Naja, Pall., Puls., and

she has dreams and fears of narrow places; that she will be crushed:

Fear narrow places: Acon, Aran, Arg-n, Cocc, Lac-d, Lyc., Nux-v, Plb, Puls., Staph, Stram, Succ, Sulph, Tab, Valer. (S.R. )

On reflection, she seemed like a lost child when recounting the story of her childhood:

Childish: Acon., Alum., Anac., Apis., Arg-nit., Bar-c., Bar-m., Bufo., Calad., Carb an., Carb-s., Carb-v., Chlol., Cic., Croc., Crot., Ign., Kali-br., Nux-m., Par., Puls., Rhus-t., Seneg., Stram., Viol-o.

Prescription:

Arg-n 10M (Alban Atkins).

27.10.1993

Flushes > only waking 1-2 times a night.

Sadness > even though close friend recently died. More relaxed, tolerant towards children (previously she was always nervous about their whereabouts). Less "sulky". Physical symptoms >.

9.11.1993

No further improvement for last 2-3 weeks.

Prescription: Arg-Nit 200 (Ainsworths)

13.12.1993

Very occasional flushes, only at night. No dreams of narrow places. Physical and mental symptoms greatly improved. No headaches, heartburn, etc. Varicosities >. Continues to do well up until the present time.

I repeated early because I have previously used this 10M, and although effective, did not seem to last long. This raises the question as to how well the remedies are made or if they have in some way become damaged.
